For over 30 years, Calvert Trust has been enabling people with disabilities, together with their families and friends, to achieve their potential through outdoor adventure activities in the countryside.
Today its three centres welcome over 11,000 visitors each year, helping them challenge disability through outdoor adventure and providing more opportunities to find out that "it's what you CAN do that counts!"

The Durham Area Disability Leisure Group (DADLG) was founded in 1996 and has developed from a volunteer-run group to a successful charity, running a wide range of leisure, sporting and social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities and their families in County Durham.
These activities allow children with learning, sensory, physical and multiple disabilities to mix, enjoying sports and recreational activities together. Importantly the group provides disabled children with the opportunity to experience greater independence, gain confidence and self-esteem, whilst also creating a supportive environment for parents to meet and socialise.

Dear Chris
As always good to hear from you. We look forwad to seeing you both, however, I will not be there but our headteacher Steve Carroll will show you around. I can tell you that with your help things have 'moved'. We now have a hoist surrounding the hall enabling wheelchair bound students to use gym equipment. No doubt Steve will show the hoist to you.

Kieran
A severely autistic boy (aged 10) who has such profound sensory difficulties that he is pretty much housebound (very unable to cope with the outside world)
His one passion is trampolining and this not only makes him really happy but also gives him some great exercise and has a very calming effect afterwards.
